The FIH 2010 World Cup is slowly spreading the hockey fever among the fans and it will enter into third day tomorrow with the first match being played between South Africa and England.
South Africa has had a bad start of the tournament, having lost against Spain with a 2-4. The team though scored the first goal of the tournament, could fight the Spain’s tactical and athletic challenge. Hykes of South Africa scored the first goal for them which had been equaled by Olivia of Spain in the next couple of minutes.
Alegre pushed another one for Spain and Haley didn’t allow Spain dominance and scored for SA in the next few minutes. But Garza and Quemada didn’t let the joy last long for the SA. They will go now to play against England which is riding high after their win against Australia. Tindall had starred in the English win and he scored 2 goals for them in the 33rd and the 45th minutes and Jackson scored the first goal for England in the 24th minute.
SA will play for a win and they would love to have as many penalty corners as possible and convert them. It will be interesting to see if the English will continue their romance.
